Refurbishment of the existing ground floor created on identifiable street address and significant public foyer for the building to Queen Street and a retail precinct along Creek Street.

Symmetry of the existing tower and lobby was emphasised by the creation of an elliptical lobby and radiating awning. Plaza paving patterns, ceiling and awning structure all radiate from the lobby focal point out to the street. This generates a strong link between the street and lobby.

Opaque glazing to the Queen Street awning creates a transition in light intensity between the lobby and street. Interior lighting was carefully design to provide a variety of visual experiences.

Prior to the refurbishment a two metre level difference between the ground floor and Creek Street was eliminated by removing a large area of the existing ground floor and reconstructing a series of new floors at street level. Mezzanine floors were also incorporated to provide a variety of retail spaces opportunities.

Inclusion of outdoor dining spaces and retail at street level further revitalised the street scape.
