Development of the portion of the Commerce Hill Precinct within the UQ campus provided an opportunity to review historic master planning decisions in light of contemporary campus demands. The project was won in limited competition. Commissioned by UQ Property & Facilities using traditional procurement required for very general usage: i.e. changing departments and functions over time, working with current UQ policy of cellular offices for academic usage.

The building acts as half of a planned new ‘gate’ to the historic Circular Drive and the axial completion of the Sir Fred Schonell Drive approach.
