	images	The 11 storey public hospital was completed to a design by Peddle Thorp in 1981. It represented a then unique partnering of the Queensland Government with the Sisters of Meecy in Queensland who own and operate 3 public hospitals on the Mater Hill in South Brisbane site as part of the state's public hospital system. The hospital remains a highly functional and efficient facility providing 275 inpatient beds, accident and emergency, specialist clinics, coronary and intensive care unit, medical imaging and 7 operating theatres including provision for day surgery.
