	images	This 190 bed private hospital was opened in 1993 replacing the original hospital completed in 1910. It forms part of the 800 bed Mater Hospitals complex of private and public hospitals owned and operated by the Sisters of Mercy in Queensland. The eight storey building has 3 floors of inpatient accommodation with private rooms for 60 percent of patients and all rooms have individual ensuites. The Operating Theatre Department has 6 theatres with facilities for both inpatients and day patients. The complex is linked to an adjacent Medical Centre which includes a Day Oncology Treatment Unit. The private hospital is designed to offer comfortable and relaxing surrounds with the ambiance of a boutique hotel. The entry and key areas throughout the building feature warm toned timber paneling and parquetry. A feature of the entry foyer is a specially designed lead light. Peddle Thorp continue to undertake reburbishment projects to ensure the hospital continues to deliver the best clinical services in outstanding environments.
