Peddle Thorp is inviting applications for experienced Project Architects to join our Brisbane team. This is an exciting and dynamic position that requires adept and experienced individuals who can positively contribute to new and current projects across Queensland. These include projects in the Health, Education, Commercial, Public and Residential sectors.

 

We are keen for you to apply as a candidate for this position if you have great understanding of how designs are built in practice and have 5 -10+ years of professional experience. In this role, you will leverage your prior experience and passion for design to work across sectors. You will be actively lead projects from concept through to documentation and construction phases. You will deploy your ‘all-rounder’ skills by using your strengths in design and your ability to think independently, demonstrate initiative and actively contribute to the design process.

 

As a talented and focused Architect, you should have the following key skills, knowledge, and experience:

 

Technical:

  • A minimum of 5 - 10 years professional experience working on a range of projects, preferably healthcare or similar complex buildings

  • Planning and design skills

  • Plan and deliver a set of documents from concept through to construction and directing a documentation team

  • Construction and building engineering knowledge

  • Ability to interpret and coordinate building codes and standards into design

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Excellent report writing skills

  • Ability to manage project commissions

  • Proven ability to manage and coordinate sub-consultant disciplines

  • Registered Architect, preferably Queensland

 

Desirable:

  • High level of competency in Revit and adobe suite

  • Sustainable design knowledge and experience

  • Ability and willingness to travel within Queensland, including overnight stays

 

Interpersonal:

  • Mentoring and guidance of junior staff

  • Effective communicator and listener

  • Work autonomously and critical thinker

  • Effective and supportive team member

  • Ability to work under pressure (deliver to tight deadlines on multiple projects)

 

Other Requirements:

  • Australian permanent resident or citizen

  • Up to date with Covid-19 vaccinations
