FAST FACTS

LOCATION
Papua New Guinea
CLIENT
Independent state of Papua New Guinea
DATE
2022

The new Legal Training Institute currently in documentation stage will deliver over 7500m2 of new practical teaching space for prospective lawyers as well as providing flexible venue space for the country’s legal fraternity professional training and events.

The planning locates public access facilities that include a 200 seat lecture theatre and a conference centre along an internal concourse. A dedicated ‘moot’ court replicates the court rooms currently under construction at the National Courts complex also design by Peddle Thorp. The mid-level comprises the student tutorial rooms and student commons for collaborative learning work and replicates a corporate law office environment. Openness is core to the design approach with central voids allowing visual and functional connectivity between student levels and from the public concourse.
