Following on from the first stage of the original Farnorha Aged Care Facility in 2000, Peddle Thorp were engaged by RSL Care to develop the remainder of the site. After much analysis of the siting options it was agreed that adding on to the existing building would optimise the use of the site area and maximise options for future development.

Two further 2 storey care wings were added, a single storey kitchen dining and recreation wing, together with a full over hall and fit-out of the existing administration area. The total floor area added was over 3,000 sqm and provided a further 65 beds.

Particular attention was given to the High Care areas, which more than doubled in size. Buildings have been orientated around an expansive landscaped courtyard, providing natural light and views out to all internal spaces.

Also planned for the future use of the remaining site is a self-contained 3 storey Independent Living development, comprising a further 45 units.
