The owner of the Cairns Square retail and commercial development was searching for a tenant for this kiosk space that would bring foot traffic into the centre. The location was already set up with water and power connections, and had the added bonus of a busy street frontage.

Prospective tenants Happy 4 10 Sushi & Bento then engaged Peddle Thorp to come up with a design which would satisfy both themselves, and the building owner.

The design was based around a simple palette of colours to ensure all eyes remain focused on the product. This was achieved by utilising natural spotted gum timber bench tops, white wall tiles and black metal throughout.

The finishes flow into the seating area, with privacy nib walls made out of timber and black metal. Industrial white powder coated chairs helped finish off the natural look for the kiosk.

The combination of clever, stylish design and a great location proved to be a winning one, with the business having now extended their opening hours into the evening.
